The Opportunity

We’re working with a rapidly scaling renewable energy group operating across the UK. With continued growth, they’re now looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to support a busy, well-structured finance function. This is a role with genuine progression opportunities, and ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to take increasing ownership over time.

The Role

You’ll support the financial management of multiple entities, working closely with a small, capable finance team. Initially focused on core transactional and control work, the role is expected to broaden as experience grows.

Responsibilities include:

  • Bank reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Preparing and processing payment runs
  • VAT return preparation
  • Rolling forward and maintaining monthly budgets
  • Processing customer and supplier invoices and resolving queries
  • Managing the finance inbox and stakeholder communication
  • Supporting audits, reporting, and ad-hoc finance activity
  • Progressive exposure to management accounts preparation

About you

You’ll be organised, detail-focused, and comfortable juggling multiple workstreams.

You’re likely to have:

  • AAT qualification (or studying toward AAT / similar), or equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • The ability to manage workload across multiple entities
  • Experience using Xero (other finance tools advantageous but not essential)
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach suited to a growing business

What’s on offer

  • 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays
  • Private health insurance
  • Hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in the office)
  • Ongoing training and clear scope for career progression
  • Supportive, modern working environment
