Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
We've been exclusively engaged in the search for a Finance Manager, which is a newly created role for a recently acquired group of businesses in Corby. Backed by a group of entrepreneurial private investors who focus on long-term sustainable growth, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a business at the start of it's growth journey, where you'll have full responsibility to build a best in class finance function.
As the Finance Manager, you will play a key role on the leadership team, overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of financial processes while supporting the company’s long-term growth. This position is perfect for a part or newly qualified finance professional, with a strong desire to take on challenges, and a keen interest in enhancing efficiency through process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and execute strategies that align with the businesses growth vision.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of the profit and loss statement, focusing on overhead costs.
  • Manage the balance sheet, ensuring all assets and liabilities are accurately recorded.
  • Reconcile the trial balance, handling areas such as fixed assets, inventory, prepayments, accruals, payroll, bank reconciliation's, and VAT.
  • Collaborate with senior management to produce annual financial forecasts, supporting budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate with external accountants to complete year-end closing procedures and finalise accounts.
  • Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns.
  • Oversee the approval and processing of supplier payments.
  • Ensure adherence to all statutory reporting, filing, and payment requirements.
  • Manage payroll, including P11Ds, P60s, and pension-related tasks.
  • Address various inquiries from colleagues and team members as needed.
  • Assist operations in identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Skills:
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting software (Xero experience is a plus).
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    • High attention to detail and organisational capabilities.
    • Proven track record of prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
