With significant investment, ambitious growth plans, and major strategic initiatives underway, they’re strengthening the finance function with the appointment of a commercially minded FP&A Lead.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll own and lead the full FP&A agenda, ensuring the organisation has a clear, accurate, and insight-driven view of its performance and trajectory:

  • Lead the annual planning and budgeting process with senior management.
  • Take ownership of forecasting and guide business leaders through performance against targets.
  • Build and maintain scenario models, sensitivities, and forward-looking analysis.
  • Own and develop the organisation’s financial model.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives including potential investment activity, commercial evaluations, and long-term funding requirements.
  • Upgrade management information by developing dashboards and reporting tools that improve clarity, speed, and visibility.
  • Prepare high-quality Board and leadership presentations.
  • Act as a genuine strategic finance partner—supporting pricing decisions, project evaluations, and investment cases across the organisation.

 

What you’ll bring

You’ll be a proactive, analytical finance professional who enjoys combining detail with big-picture thinking:

  • Strong FP&A experience within a fast-moving environment.
  • A qualified accountant (or qualified by experience with strong FP&A credentials).
  • Demonstrable financial modelling capability.
  • Confidence presenting to senior leaders and explaining financial information simply.
  • Ability to drive change, challenge constructively, and improve processes.
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools to enhance speed and quality of insight.
  • A collaborative style and ease working with stakeholders at all levels.

Interim FP&A Lead

Location: South West (1 day on-site per week)

Rate: £450 - £500 per day (Inside IR35)

Duration: Interim – covering the function while a permanent appointment is made

An established organisation in the South West is seeking an Interim FP&A Lead to provide stability, clarity and leadership during a period of transition. With a permanent search underway, we’re looking for someone who can step in confidently, take ownership quickly, and ensure that robust financial planning and commercial insight continue uninterrupted.

 

The Opportunity 

This role sits at the heart of the organisation’s financial strategy. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality analysis, forecasts and modelling, supporting decision-making across the business. You’ll also play a key role in strategic initiatives, including investment appraisal, scenario planning and project-based commercial support.

We need someone who is hands-on, inquisitive, detail-led and able to build rapport quickly.

 

What You’ll Lead & Deliver

  • Full ownership of annual budgeting, reforecasting and long-term planning
  • Scenario modelling, sensitivities and insight-driven analysis
  • Development and maintenance of financial models
  • Improving business MI, including dashboards and performance reporting
  • Preparation of senior leadership and Board-level presentations
  • Commercial partnering across projects, pricing and investment decisions
  • Support for strategic projects, including evaluation of potential transactions
  • Clear communication of financial information to non-finance stakeholders

 

What You Bring

  • A proven FP&A background in a dynamic or fast-moving organisation
  • Strong financial modelling skills, with a detail-driven and analytical approach
  • Ability to simplify complex data for senior leaders
  • Experience improving MI and reporting tools (BI experience beneficial)
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder-management skills
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with the drive to improve processes
  • Qualified accountant or qualified by experience

This role offers excellent exposure across a busy finance function and is ideal for someone on their AAT journey who is eager to develop their skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.

 

The Role

The successful candidate will support the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations and work closely with experienced senior finance professionals. Responsibilities include:

Finance Operations

  • Supporting day-to-day finance activity to ensure accurate and timely processes
  • Providing administrative and clerical support to the finance leadership team

Accounts Receivable & Payables

  • Raising sales invoices, allocating receipts, and maintaining customer accounts
  • Providing cover for purchase ledger duties as required

Expenses

  • Processing company credit card expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy

Project Costing & Reporting

  • Assisting with internal project cost reporting to support operational insight

Month-End Support

  • Supporting ledger preparation to trial balance, including ledger review, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset register updates
  • Preparing monthly account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy

 

The Candidate

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified AAT
