About The Business

Our client is a diverse, ambitious company based in Wiltshire, with investments spanning the UK and USA. The group is entering an exciting phase of growth and complexity, driving new demands across its central functions, particularly finance. With transformation at the heart of its agenda, this is a business committed to innovation, efficiency and best-in-class financial systems.

About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Project Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of the group’s finance transformation journey. This fixed-term contract will support a series of high-impact finance projects, notably the final phase of transitioning to USD group reporting and the full implementation of a new consolidation and reporting solution.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on delivering meaningful change. You will take the lead on system implementation from scoping and selection through to testing, go-live and post-launch optimisation, working closely with Finance, IT and Project Management teams to elevate reporting, process efficiency and data integrity across the group.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading the full life cycle of a consolidation and reporting system implementation from scoping and selection to successful deployment.
  • Partnering with IT and Finance to define system requirements, testing criteria and data structures that ensure accuracy, automation and insight.
  • Providing expert accounting and technical support throughout finance transformation projects.
  • Driving continuous improvement in reporting through smarter use of technology, improving data accuracy and streamlining reconciliation processes.
  • Building strong relationships across Finance, Project Management and IT teams, influencing and guiding stakeholders to deliver project success.
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities across finance change projects, escalating where necessary.
  • Supporting the design, documentation and embedding of robust finance processes and controls arising from project changes.
  • Mapping “as-is” and “to-be” processes, ensuring seamless transition and business continuity.
  • Co-ordinating and managing testing, user training and feedback cycles to ensure effective adoption.
  • Supporting ad hoc analysis and project work as directed by Senior Management.

About The Candidate

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA with 1–3 years PQE.
  • Proven track record in leading full system implementations including scoping and selection.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering finance transformation projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills with experience enhancing reporting and data integrity.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Methodical, diligent and detail-oriented with high levels of integrity.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP and reporting system experience advantageous.
  • Confident communicator capable of engaging stakeholders across Finance, IT and Operations.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Naturally curious and improvement-minded, eager to challenge the status quo and drive positive change.
