Accounts Assistant
Location: Truro (Hybrid – 2 days in office after onboarding)
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum

 

The Opportunity

A forward-thinking, purpose-led organisation in Truro is seeking an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. This innovative business is experiencing sustained growth and investment, and the finance function is evolving to support its expanding operations. This role offers excellent exposure across a busy finance function and is ideal for someone on their AAT journey who is eager to develop their skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.

 

The Role

The successful candidate will support the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations and work closely with experienced senior finance professionals. Responsibilities include:

Finance Operations

  • Supporting day-to-day finance activity to ensure accurate and timely processes
  • Providing administrative and clerical support to the finance leadership team

Accounts Receivable & Payables

  • Raising sales invoices, allocating receipts, and maintaining customer accounts
  • Providing cover for purchase ledger duties as required

Expenses

  • Processing company credit card expenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy

Project Costing & Reporting

  • Assisting with internal project cost reporting to support operational insight

Month-End Support

  • Supporting ledger preparation to trial balance, including ledger review, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset register updates
  • Preparing monthly account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy

 

The Candidate

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified AAT
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, accurate, and quick to learn in a team-oriented environment
