Job Description

Credit Controller

Rate: £150 - £180 per day (Umbrella Rate)

Location: Bath

Duration: Temp to Perm

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing, multi-entity business to find a hands-on Credit Controller who can take ownership of the sales ledger and play a key role in protecting cashflow.

This is initially a 2-month temporary assignment, but there’s a clear opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right person.

If you enjoy being at the sharp end of collections, building relationships, and making a visible impact on cash performance, this one’s worth a look.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the credit control function, ensuring debtor balances are tightly managed and cash is collected efficiently.

Expect a mix of proactive collections, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement, with plenty of autonomy to make the role your own.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales ledger and credit control process end-to-end
  • Proactively chase outstanding debt via phone, email, and written communication
  • Review aged debt reports, highlighting risks and recovery actions
  • Allocate incoming cash accurately and in a timely manner
  • Resolve customer queries and disputes, working cross-functionally where needed
  • Monitor credit limits and payment terms, escalating concerns when appropriate
  • Support invoicing accuracy and timely billing
  • Contribute to month-end reporting on debtor positions and cash collection
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and implement improvements to credit control processes

About You

You’ll likely be an experienced Credit Controller, comfortable managing your own ledger and confident dealing with customers at all levels.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive, resilient, and results-driven
  • Confident communicator and able to chase firmly but professionally
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting a wider finance team
  • Systems-savvy, with solid Excel skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment
  • Exposure to Xero
  • Industry experience (e.g. construction or similar project-based environments)

Why Apply?

  • Immediate start with quick impact potential
  • Opportunity to turn a short-term role into something permanent
  • Visible role within finance — your work directly impacts cashflow
  • Supportive environment with scope to improve processes
